Can any one tell me the minimum tank for a Silver Aro? I was thinking of gettin a 125 gallon (500 liter) tank or a 600 liter (150 gallon) tank. I want to get 2 oscars, an aro (silver), 2-4 yabbys/cray or craw fish and possibly a pleco. If i only get 1 or 2 oscars with a silver aro in a 55 gallon (200 liter) tank that would be to small, right?
Who ever knows about their tank size (minimum tank size) could you leave a comment and i will read it. Thanks

Hello, people. I currently have 2 butterfly fish in a 50 ltr tank living with 6 cherry barbs, 3 filamented barbs, and a bristle nose catfish. I've had them for a few months now and I must say they are a spectacular species to have. So far mine dine on crickets, freeze dryed blackworms, and flakes, but crickets are there favourite. They mostly stay close to the leaves of plants that meet the water surface except when something moves close to their nose. I highly recommend them to anyone.

The Freshwater Lionfish is a very capable fish as I've come to find.
They feed on anything that moves plus sinking pellets and frozen meat.
Mines is housed with two Parachromis Dovii (A male and Female pair) that are between 5"-6.5 inches long.
The fabled grunting that is associated with this fish is all too true and can be very loud if you experience it.
They are very shy to non-inhabitants of their tank but to another fish swimming by, they will advance in aggression even to the King and Queen of the Cichlids.
Red-Rosey's, Small Gold Fish, Live Tube-effects worms... these are all exceptable foods. I find that the frozen foods should be a staple especially with the use of a feeder stick as this guy gives a good fight! I've never been stung or bitten by this fish because it's chosen to flee from me rather than to attack me, and because I am weary of this fabled sting it pocesses like that of a wasp.
I hate wasps.

I have had mine for almost 11 years! He ate all of my tropical fish when I first got him or her from the pet store. He has killed a giant catfish as well as another lungfish over the years. He mostly eats live baby rats. Sometimes he eats nightcrawlers, grubs, goldfish, frozen or dry fish food if I am out of stuff, and has had chunks of fresh caught salmon. He lets me hold him. He drew blood in my finger as well as my 2 year old son's finger--scary more than painful. He got out of the tank once for maybe a half an hour and was okay. My 2 toddlers let me know.

Do these fish have poison glands or Barbs on them... Out of curiosity, I touched mine on the top gently, and my finger burned like I got stung by 5 fire ants for about 10 min. I won't be doing that again. XD.

I love these guys, I'm thinking of getting a few to add with my african lung sometime in the future. Their habit of staying at the surface works well with my predatorial bottom feeding lungfish.

I have in my pond, about an acre, an albino catfish which would probably weigh between 8 to 10 lbs. It has survived numerous osprey, that dive my pond frequently after fish. Also aligators, very visible and very pretty. I was just wondering if anyone has any info or would like for me to send pictures. thank you for responding.

Ive had one of these for a few years. He was named Jeremy by a friend of mine who worked with me at the aquatics.

He is just over 2 feet long and right now lives happily in a Juwel Rio 180 with an oscar, a golden severum and a couple of plecs.

I may move him to a larger tank with perhaps some tinfoils and silver shark since they are mostly surface feeders and move too quickly for him but for now he's happy with the misfits.
