I have 8 cinnamon loaches in a 79 degree Fahrenheit, 6.5-7.0 pH 90 gallon aquarium filled with African (?) driftwood. I feed them shrimp pellets and sometimes algae disks. They are very active and tend to come out most of the day. Today when I was cleaning them, I was amazed to discover a very small loach, which was obviously an offspring. It was about an inch long and not more than a 5-6 hairs thick...at first I thought it was a piece of plastic, then I saw it shake its head like a loach and swim off!

I love my clown loaches. I have 3 in a 55 gallon tank. They live with 2 very large fire eels, lots to neon tetras, cat fish, bushnose plecostamus, reproductive guppies, 2 siamese alge eaters, a couple of african water frogs, and more. The cool thing is that they started to reproduce too. She has just laid eggs. Found a nice cubby in a large barnicle shell that I put in there. So am looking forward to having some babies. These fish are great. They are very active and keep us entertained for hours. The boys are always busy and dancing around. They eat anything. I originally bought them to eat up the snail population and they do a good job at it. They are a definite must in a tank.

I have 2 YoYo fish, and they are great sizes. They are very friendly towards my clown loaches and i think they might be ready to breed. They are always out any time of the day. They are cute in a weird way but i love my YoYo fish.

Hi! Beautiful species, i have 3 burmese borders, 2 yo-yo, and 3 dojos all juvies (only about 1 1/2") and they are new to my community tank but to witness their dance is so cute. The biggest one is named peek-a-boo because he loves to play peek-a-boo with me. he comes right up to me in tank and when i move forward he moves back when i move back he comes foreward...very entertaining.
My dojos feed by hand and im trying to introduce this to borders but no success, probably still too young.

Hello all, I've a big fish tank which consists of quite a few fish. The tank is 5 feet long and contains a large Panaque (Royal Pleco), 3 Striped Raphael fish, and several clown loaches. When I first saw these I'm probably the only one to admit I wasn't keen until a friend bought some and I saw their nature and characters. I was fascinated and got some of my own, including Blue Botias. I must now admit they are my favorite fish and would be lost without them. They are cheeky, dancing up the side of the tank and always hungry! (but they are not overfed). he clicking when food is put in the tank is loud! Lots of hiding places are best but too many and you never see them. I feed mine on cucumber (loudest clicking), flake, catfish pellets, algae wafers, and sinking wafers. I vary the diet so they don't have the same each day. They also like earth worms chopped, bloodworms, and many other varieties of foods. One of the best fish I can recommend for an aquarium!

I absolutely love my Weather Loaches! I've completely changed my tank setup for them. Got rid of the gravel and went to a Black "Volcanic" Sand substrate. (If you get sand, make sure it's not the "live sand" for marine tanks.) The loaches love the sand! They burrow, dig, and sift through it all day and night long. Sometimes, all I see is their whiskers sticking out. I have a mix of artificial/live plants, some ornaments and rocks with hiding places and holes they can swim through. The most dramatic change was getting the Fluval 405 canister filter and replacing the old lid. I cut the plastic in the new lid with a soldering iron so it fits snuggly against the hoses. No gaps or holes. Now my tank's a safer cleaner environment for all my fish to live and play in. Plus, my loaches are more active than ever!

My Clown Loach is very happy in his tank along with 1 Platy, 1 Red Tailed Shark, 2 Dwarf Gouramis, 5 Cardinals, 2 Rummy Nose Tetras, 2 Lemon Tetras, 2 Panda Tetras, 2 Serpae Tetras, 1 Penguin Fish, 1 Scissortail, 2 Threadfin Rainbows, 1 Zebra Danio, 1 Molly, and a Silver Hatchetfish. I am thinking of getting another one, and a Butterfly Pleco, because he seems very active and delicate. I keep a close eye on him and he is one of my favorites in the tank.
