These livebearers are very cool to have in an aquarium because they are easy to care for. In my experience is they are wonderful to have because they breed after 20 To 30 days. They are very peaceful and lead very joyful lives. Being omnivorous they can eat all types of food stuffs especially for tropical fishes. I love these platy moontail.

I bought a Yo Yo loach the other day. In the clear bag with my Yo Yo loach was a baby Balloon Molly. It hides behind the air tubes a lot. It eats the flake food I feed to my other fish. I can't wait until it gets bigger. It's so cute. I'll have fun watching my baby molly grow.

I can't believe that my Gold Platy is considered a "community fish". It beat up on my Betta fish (who has since been separated), and is now going after my Marbled Molly (especially during feeding time).

I'm new to the guppy business. I bought 5 guppies over a month ago and four died so i got 4 more, and then three died. So now I have only two, one from the first batch and one from the second. The day after I got my guppies I had six babies in the tank so we caught them and put them in a rose bowl until we could get a breeding net. After we got the next four fish we had 15 babies in the breeder net and then 5 died. Then one of the fish had 20+ babies about a month after I got her so now I have 22+ babies and 2 adults. I have no adult males. The 2 feamles are due in three days and the other in three weeks. I have six 6 week old, four 4 week old, and 20+ 1 week old babies. If you buy female guppies from the pet store they are usually pregnant.

Hey i have a regular molly. It has a huge problem, one of its eyes has been completely covered by a white substance. Also upon further review i saw that one of it gills has a medium sized gap (which is red). But it still eats and interacts with other fish and my other fish have been living with it for a pretty long time with out catching whatever it has. Thanks!

I have 2 male guppies. 1 yellow cobra and 1 red tuxedo. I am hoping to breed them in the future because they are so lovely. The males can nip each other, but it ends up fine. I recommend them.

I have 4 swordtails (listed as pineapple swords)in my 30gal long tank: two of each sex. The one male seems to be the "alpha male". This observation was made when watching the his activities as it appears he is trying to mate with one or both of the females. He would chase off the other male, while keeping the two females hurded.

What was very interesting to watch was what appeared to be a mating ritual dance preformed by the male. He would start from a stand still and dart forward about several inches, and just as quickly, do the same in reverse. He didn't turn around, but actually went straight back. He would go back and forth a couple of times... and then rest. I witnessed this behavior a couple of times.

Unfortunately, I don't know the temp of my tank, as I need to get a new one. However I had turned on the heater the other day, as it is getting much cooler in my apartment. I am thinking that the warming of the water has spawned this new activity. I do have some live plants, one which is probably over 3' in length (planted in a corner). I pushed this plant in at several places along its length to keep it from all floating along the top.

Hopefully this will give any fry produced a somewhat safe haven to hide while they grow.

I have a 20 gallon tank with guppies, and albino cory cats. Today I added 2 females and 1 male red swordtail to the tank. While I was introducing the fish to their new home, I noticed that the fish were going crazy eating something at the bottem of the bag. With a closer look I noticed 6 babies at the bottem of the bag. Now I do not know if the babies were caught in the net while buying the fish at the store, or did one of the females have the babies during transport from the store to my home. I bought 3 fish and put 9 in my tank! The babies are in a breeding tank doing very well, and are eating regular flake food that lays at the bottom of their tank. I guess I will need to get a bigger tank now!

We just decided to start breeding mollies. We bought 2 sailfin females, one ballon female, and one male ballon. I plan to let the ballon breed all the females. Wondering what they will look like. I have enjoyed them so far. I do believe at least two of them are pregnant and wondering if the third isn't as well. We think maybe we bought them that way, so we are expect LOTS of fry soon. I haven't decided if i am going to put them in a hatchery yet or not. I might not since i have 3 females that could have lots of fry and they are only in a 10gal. I do have a 2 gal to use as a hatchery if i have to until they get a little bigger. These are great and very active fish. My kids love to watch them. They will even follow your finger around on the glass. So cool!
