I have a red-cap Telescope Goldfish named Niko. When I bought him, all of his fins were black tipped. Are red-caped fish supposed to be all white excepted for the red spot on their head? Is this type of color pattern normal?

We have a small Chinese Telescopic fish named Itty Bitty. Lately she's been laying on the bottom with her belly up, swimming to the top while rotating, laying on her back on the rock, and sometimes then swimming in a loop when she gets up. She looks like she's dead, but she's happy and healthy.

If your fish is behaving in such a way, then your fish could be suffering from a swim bladder disorder. Sadly, this is not healthy or happy behavior.

We have had a telescope goldfish for several years - it appears that one of his eyes is growing at a much faster rate than the other. Is this normal? Is there a disease that would cause this? Should we be changing feeding or treating with medication?

Look at article Fish Diseases and Treatments and match symptoms against what you are seeing in your goldfish. http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/information/Diseases.htm

Check pop-eye or cloudiness of eyes. Treatable - OK?
