I have one and he is the most fun to watch. if you get one you should feed it par-boiled vegtables like lettuce and cucumbers. They will eat them all day long and they will also eat the algae when they get bored with the vegtables.

We own one tiger barb. The first one died but this one is doing just fine. We have an assortment of fish, including one angelfish many guppies and some mollies. The tiger barb does like to nibble but has never seriously harmed another fish. Now the angel fish on the other hand is the one we have to worry about!

It sits under the filter and lets the food come to it rather than actualy cleaning the walls of the tank. It only moves if you try to look at it, upon walking up to the glass, it darts out from under the filter. Aside from a little obesity, its healthy and low maintenance.

They are beautiful. Sono pesci bellissimi che consiglio a chiunque voglia avere nel proprio acquario un pesce inelligente e che mangia davvero tanto.Regala molte soddisfazioni. (Translated: "They are the most beautiful fish and I recommend them to anyone who likes intelligent fish in their aquarium that eat a lot. Regala many satisfactions indeed.")

I have resently bought a single tin foil for my 30 gallon tank. When I purchased him he was about an 1 1/2 inches, and in just over 2 weeks he has grown another inch. Other fish in my tank include 1 albino cory, 2 small alge eaters, 1 giant danio, and 1 small shark about 3 inches (not sure what kind because I purchased it long ago, not bala).

LUCY I hear ya sister. ive had three suckers climb out of my 10 gallon tank through a 4x1 inch space. what happened in my other experiences. more catastophe- it sucked the scales off of its tank mate- wounds which quickly festered and grew fungus and the fish died. After killing all my other fish- the little demon climbed through the tank and on to the hood, right next to the light switch. The image of its dried out body practicaly mocking me still haunts me today.

we had to get rid of our tiger barbs because they were tearing fins off other fish in the tank, especially the swordtails. they were attacking the other fish. we left them to see if they would settle down but when they killed a guppy we had to take them back to the shop.

Lovely, efficient fish, but beware. They are smart little devils and will climb. I had about five square inches of open space, a gap in the hood for my filter. Low and behold, the little sucker managed to climb out of the tank and on to the floor. Also, this fish can be territorial, and if in the right mind will have its way. My second, the fish that preceded the little worm who climbed his way to my living room carpet, had a huge territory problem, he would suck the scales off fish who entered it. I gave him a rock cave to please him, but then he stopped EaTiNg, heaven knows why.

I have 2 albino tinfoil barbs 6 1/2 inches in length and 2 normal tinfoil barbs 8 1/2 inches in length. they live in a 300 gallon with a 5 inch pleco. also theres bout 1000,0000,0000 zebra danios which they feed on, its so cool to watch them gobble up these little speed demons. Ive had my barbs for about 7 months now and are the most awesome fish i have ever owned the tank is filled with many aquatic plants and black gravel which really make the tinfoil barbs stand out well. i sugest these fish to anyone that has the time, patience and of coarse a big enough tank for these whales :)

A very good fish. Lively and peacable. Years ago I had a school of 6 in a 240 gallon tank. Even thought they grew quite large they never bother my smaller fish which included dozens of feeder guppies (which are kind of interesting in their own right.)
