I have a male and a female Chinese Algea Eater apparently. Since the female was bigger and in the tank before the smaller male, I assumed their chasing one another was just teritorial. Now I think that that was the mating ritual since my female is pregnant and doubled in size!

I have 3 Green Tiger Barbs and they get along just fine. They're in a 30gal tank along with 2 Dwarf Gouramis (red), 2 Dwarf Frogs, 3 Pleco, 1 shrimp, 1 guppy, 1 platty, and 2 Black tetras. (they like to hang out with the green tiger barbs as they swim back and forth sometimes. Nice combo)

Green Tiger Barbs are a excellent choice for a community given the proper amount of plants and rocks.

Got one of these beautiful fish 4 years ago as an inch long algae eating machine. Now he owns the bottom floor of my 30 gallon tank, pushes around my 6 inch long Rainbow Shark and has encouraged me in the beginnings of a 55 Gal tank. Now, as he happily sits as the king of his very own 30 Gal passive community tank, with no other bottom dwelling fish, I look at him and I wonder if I should have gotten something else for my long term fish tank goals. My new 55 gallon quite noticeably has Chinese Butterfly Plecos, not my 30 gallon king's brother from a nearby spawning.

I have Just bought 2 lovely middle size BALLA, with 3 small size gold fish, red tailed black shark, pelco, cat fish corydoras, clown loach, 2 small size kuhli banded loaches. they felt frightened when one of my gold fish chased them trying to bite the tails, so the red tailed shark pretended some of his usual aggressive nature, but now they are doing well all together. i hope they will become a great MIXED LOVELY TEAM...ONE FAMILY..NO HATES...

We have a tin foil barb, an oscar, a pleco, and a crawfish. The craw fish hides a lot but the rest get along very well. At first the oscar bullied the barb but somehow he showed hmself to be a worthy equal. They all eat flake, bloodworms and occasionally live fish.

I recently added four small tiger barbs to my 10 gallon planted setup that had a snail and a 2.5" blue gourami. They all get along great! I feed them flake food and a treat of freeze dried blood worms and they love it. These fish are fun to watch!

I have recently brought three green and an albino tiger barb and put them in a tank with our two regular tigers. They have shoaled together really well and our regular tigers are now fighting less. I also have a red-tail black shark and eight live-bearers, none of which have received any grief from the barbs, but our two angel fish did. Don't mix barbs with fish with long fins such as the siamese fighting fish. Ideally barbs should be the last additions to a community tank.
All barbs make beautiful and fastinating additions to any tank.
