I have a shoal of 5. They are top swimmers in my 24" deep tank. They seem very easy to keep, are very active, and I would recommend them highly.

I have four tinfoil barbs and a red tail catfish in a 140 US gallon aquarium, It's a good idea to keep them in a large tank because they are shoaling fish and do best in groups of at least 4 fish. They are entertaining eaters but very messy. To keep a good diet try feeding them frozen lettuce, when it melts it becomes limp and easy for them to digest.

About 2 months ago, I bought 6 very small (young) tiger barbs, they are about an inches long now and are the life of my 20 gallon aquarium. I feed them flake food and tubifex worms which they love. I have a few ghost shrimp in there and I will occasionally see one of my barbs chasing after a shrimp for his next meal.

I have a 15 gal display tank that is tall and I wanted an impressive fish that was active and fun to look at. It did not take long for me to find out that this Tinfoil Barb will jump and scare the crap out of you as you walk by your fish tank. I hated him for the longest time, but now; what a fish to watch; always moving and fun. All my friends comment on this fish and watch him. Now I have to upgrade to a 55 gal tank just to keep this fish happy and room to move. I had no idea how much they love to eat and all the things you can feed them.

I have a Zebra Danio named Stripey-stripe and he`s a good fish to
have. He is in a 10 gallon tank with 6 guppies and a female betta.
At morningtime, I see his stripes shining in the light. He is doing
fine and I know he`ll stay that way.

Now we're scared of Clown(barb)s!

Just placed a dozen Rummy Nose Tetra in our 55 Gallon tank last night now that our fish-gulping Spanner-T Barb has passed on. Had bought no new fish for months bordering on a year due to it's high-priced "sushi" appetite. Between our 2 Clown Barbs, we now have 6 Rummy Nose left this morning. Both Barbs were sporting Rummy Nose tail moustaches when we turned the lights on and were seemingly stalking their next snacks when we left for work. That Clown Barbs are community fish seems a bit overstated... saying they are omnivorous is too modest.

We have 4 green barbs, 12 tiger barbs, a algae eater, and 2 puntius everetti (clown barbs). . The clown barbs only hide under or in decorations (i. E. Castle, logs, etc. ). They seem to be coward fish always running and yet fast when we chase them from their hiding places. Was going to get rid of them since they only hide. Welcome information, etc.
