i just bought two of these fish for my 250L aquarium he's about 10 cm and is happy with his 6 cm friend, 3 mountain minnows, 3 neon tetras, a hopplo catfish, a black ghost knife, a bristle nose, a molly, 6 phantom glass catfish, and a 12 cm peppermint pleco. They are realy great fish and they eat black algae which almost every other fish won't touch.

Chinese Algae Eaters are commercially produced in the Far East, and are available in a few different colors. The suckermouth is for attachment to the substrate, not feeding on algae. Their mouth coincidentally resembles the suckermouth of many true algae eaters, but the Chinese Algae Eater does not earn the name. It is a very ineffective algae eater, even at its best when small, and becomes more and more interested in attacking its tank mates for a mouthful of scales or fin than accepting a veggie diet.

This fish is apparently easy to propagate in huge numbers and so has a profitable mark up compared to fish that actually are algae eaters.

I just bought 3 Sumatra Barb yesterday. I like their colors & fast moving, but it seems 1 appeared a bully. He keeps on chasing the other 2 which I doubt could stress the weak ones. By the way, I keep them on my 12 gallon tank with 5 Rosy Barb in it. I hope they will be in harmony for the coming days of staying together.

You should never buy a fish and then go home and research it. If you want to Know more go to fishchannel.com watch what you read always find as many articles as you can and check out the authors. I find about 40% of what you read online about fish is accurate data.

Fish have been mysteriously missing from my tank. My CAE was growing at an alarming rate. Last week a tetra came up missing, last night 2 of my large black neons went missing.... I kept noticing the CAE was getting very very aggressive chasing and biting at the other fish in my 55 gallong aquarium. Well, guess who I found belly up at the btm of the tank this morning.... CAE himself. Guess he over done it this time. Am really glad everyone shared the info on this one time algae eater gone cannibal!

I introduced 4 tiger barbs into my 50gal aquarium with 3 full grown gouramis and 1 baby rainbow shark. It is a excellent combination, the gouramis at the top minding their own business, the tiger barbs schooling and darting around at the bottom and the rainbow shark hiding in its castle coming out only to feed. I am going to the pet store tomorrow to add to this semi-aggressive tank. I hope they don't mess up the balance.

I have six Giant Danios with four Dwarf Gouramis in a 20 gallon tank. The Gouramis are not bothered by the Danios and the Danios have enough of their kind to keep them amused. I am very pleased with this combination. Cheers, TopCat james

I had silver sharks for some time and find they do their best in the biggest tank you can give them, as well as a group. Mine were in a group of 6 in, a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft set up, along with clown loach.
I think they are a really good mix as the sharks will often be heard clicking when feeding, which draws in the other sharks as well as the clowns, which often make the same clicking sound. Almost sounds like the glass may be cracking somewhere, u wait till u hear it.
