Jeremy Roche - 2013-02-25 In males maingano have long stripes and johanni have more a checker board pattern. Sometimes the checkers are so close it is hard to tell. With all the cross breeding it makes it very difficult.
fish_are_awesome - 2011-10-14 Would a 55 gallon be ok for a male and 2 females?

Charlie Roche - 2011-10-14 It is recommended that a tank be at least 36 inches long so if your 55 gallon does that - you should be good to go. Males can become agressive if not enough swimming around room.
Alex Burleson - 2011-10-15 Yes, however that is about the minimum recommended aquarium size, for those three fish. Watch for aggression.
The Electric Blue Johanni is very appealing and will definitely add 'spark' to a cichlid aquarium!
