I have two males and they are totally non-aggressive to the angelfish, silver dollars, green severum, algae eater, violet goby and baby Oscars I have in my tank. They are very lively and are continuously moving all over the tank at all water levels. Sometimes one or the other will school with either the angels or the dollars. They are all very happy together for now.

I bought one of these along with a texas cichlid, a plecostamous, an algae eater, and a few other cichlids. He was extremely territorial, and killed most of my fish. the last fish, a texas cichlid just swam at the top of the tank on some plants, half dry and baked out of water, hoping to evade the electric yellow fishes wrath.

yes there is parrot fish out there which have been injected which colour, but these are the ones which appear to have a horizontal line across the top of the body.
The parrot fish which are one complete colour for example blue or purple are given a colour enahncing food like the birds, canaries. for example the red factor canary if not given this food it looses its colour, but if given to a normal yellow canary it will start to show signs of red feathers which when the bird is breed the colour will be passed on to there chicks.
SORRY IT SOUNDS LIKE A LESSON IN BIRD BREEDING NOW.
The parrot fish which i keep myself and the ones i have sold in the aquatic business have never shown signs of problems. My first parrot lived to be 8yrs old and never got ill.

About five years i got four parrot fish as babies. they all grew up together and the biggest one became the boss of the tank and mated with another smaller one. The females are the largest. when i had a fire in my apartment i brought the parrots to my boyfriends house and he put them in his tank, a much larger one than i had, the other large parrot fish that was docile to the largest one confronted the largest parrot in the new tank to be the boss, the two fought relentlessly and would have killed each other if not separated.

Any thing you put into the aquarium they will attack, even your fingers and it does not feel good, they bite rather hard.

Hi my name is Shaun Gillis and I live in chicoppe mass. I have a 55 gal tank with two 8 month jack dempsys, 1 stripped raphael, 1 spotted raphael, 1 red tailed shark, 1 zebra lobster, 1 mustered pleco, 2 med. sized plecos, a green with yellow spots pleco, 2 yello marbled squeaker catfish, a small fiddler crab, 1 two colored bango catfish, and 1 snail.
Now with all those fish they get along fine. But the big dempsey is about 5 to 6 inches long and looks like he is digging to the bottom of the glass. Now both of the dempsys are hiding in the left side of my tank and all other fish stay on the right side off the tank. They are very shy now only come out for food and at night.
Do you think they are going to mate and if so what fish do I have to get rid of, some other fish. The dempseys had a third dempsey with them but they tried to kill him, so I got rid of him. Also... info on breeding angelfish, I also have a 29 gal. PS thanks

i just got my 65 gal set up and have 4 adult parrots and 4 smaller ones that have no color yet. albino now. due to sad events i aquired about 20 of them and 6 tanks 40-65 gals. my brother took the rest. they are very happy at this point and am looking forward to creating lots of caves and hiding places to make them happier. they were owned by a friend of mine and he had no trouble breeding them. lots of babies. hope i can do as well.

A friend gave me two adolescent brichardi because they were nipping the fins off of her other two brichardi. I put them in my community tank and they quickly became very bossy. I removed them from my 100 gallon & put them in a 10 gallon tank, gave them a conch seashell and boom within 2 weeks they had at least 50 tiny babies. She keeps them in the shell the first few days after they hatch. Nearly two months later Ive got around 200 babies; five fry or so. Incredible parents and beautiful fish.

I have six salvinis, 2 males and maybe four females. one pair is quite a bit larger than the other four fish. Anyway, they are in a tank with convicts angels, clown loaches, and two red head cichlids.T he largest male is the dominant fish in the tank but hes no killer except with feeder fish and insects. When he gets his treats he is deadly. Right now the 2 larger females seem to have territories at each end of the tank. The adult male still has full control though. I will post more here when they breed. They are stunning fish. id reccomend them to anyone interested in keeping cichlids
