Just noticed free-swimming fry with parents in nest (a hole they dug out under driftwood. The eggs were first noticed about 12 days ago. I thought the eggs were eaten until I discovered them today. The parents are guarding them extremely well (sharing the task). No sign of them eating them. They seem to be herding them around the vicinity of the nest. They are also being grouped in the nest when they finish eating flake food.
This is the first brood they hatched (the kribs are new to the tank)
Gotta go and hatch some brine shrimp!

i have a 55 gal. tank with a wide variety of fish. when i first got the tank i bought two tiger oscars and two albino oscars. they paired off and were very happy. i had got a dragonfish from one of the pet stores and put him in the tank. by this time the oscars were 8in long and were very aggresive. i had been watching the tiger oscars out of the corner of my eye when all of a sudden one of the the oscars had gotten my dragon fish. the oscar had his head in his mouth and the rest of the dragon made an s shape over the oscars head.

I own a red devil and only a red devil becuase it has eaten everything I have put in the tank with it, including a black convict, 2 oscars, a pacu, and 2 jack dempsey's. When I walk by the tank it tries to attack me. When i put my finger up to the tank it tries to bite my finger. It's the craziest fish I've ever owned.

We have two tanks, 90 gal & 125 gal, both tanks have 2 parrot fish in them. Big tank has varity of sizes of tinfoil barbs, 2 silver dollars, an eel and a few other misc. fish. Parrots are fine until I clean the tank. Been bitten often, but they are still too small to hurt.

Small tank had a blue and a green parrot, but within three weeks the color in the fish changed to the pink color. Water is fine, fish are fine, just not colored anymore.

Hey everyone! In my HUGE aquarium I have many fish including these angelfish. They live happily with my 4 Silver dollars (2 big, 2 small) and 2 silver sharks. The only problem with these fish is that if you keep very big or adults with small sized or young ones, they try to hurt them and hence they tear off their fins. Othewise, I find these fish good:) I should prefer everyone buying angelfish, BUT of same or of sizes which are not so different.

The Salvinis I had were absolutely stunning in breeding colors. They were in a 30 gal with some corys and a dempsey. The dempsey was significantly larger, but the fact that there were 2 salvinis made it a mexican standoff. I suspect that the relatively constant tension between the pair vs the dempsey kept them all in bright coloration.
Tried a single with a dempsey and convict, and they worked pretty well. The salvini and convict are now at a friends with a severum, and they all seem to be doing ok, all things considered.

Hi All. I live in South Africa. I have 2 blood parrots and 3 tiger oscars in 110 gallon tank. the Oscars are about 6 inche where my Oscars are 10-12 inches. although there is size difference, the parrots hold their ground against the oscars.

Blood parrots are real interesting creatures. I own a fish shop in
singapore and I can sell about 15 a day. I recommend placing a slate bridge in the tank. After a week, they will get used to it and will play around it often.

Red Devils are great interactive fish. As mentioned on another post, they will come up to the glass and follow you. I run my fingers across the tank glass and RD likes to chase. This is their obvious territorial nature trying to have a piece of me. When feeding if you dip your finger in the water they will bite you, though my RD is only about 9cm (4") and teeth won't rip you to shreds. Though I may be a bit more reluctant if it grew to full size. My son also has another one. We had them in a single tank (app 60litres) but they would go at it hammer and tongs, so we separated them with glass first then into separate tanks.
