hi, ihave a red devil. i got him from petsmart and he was 1.5 inches when
i purchased him. now after 5 months he is 5.5 inches and he gets along fine with my texas cichlid, green terror, and firemouth. my meanest fish is the great albino catfish, and he attacks them all the time. my red devil eats my minnows i put in there for my needle fish, so i had to put the needle fish in a different tank. moreover, red devils are great to have.

i have a salvini in my tank and have kept it along with blue and yelow auratus, a pair of parrots, a pair of tiger cichlids, zebra, blue morph, red belly pacu, and many more cichlids. My salvini has started laying eggs and today. i saw 100s of fries in the tank. now they are very fierce and protect the fries. the tank is now in 2 partitions, one is guarded by the salvini and the other cichlids stay on the other side. they are pretty good fish and colourful while mating.

I have 8 of these Electric Yellows in a 55 gal tank, and although they are considered a peaceful fish, they do get quite aggressive towards each other at times: even so, I have never had them do any actual harm to each other. Of all my tanks, this one gets watched the most because these guys are always active and their coloring is beautiful! They also see me from across the room and start doing little dances whenever they think I'm headed their way. Quite an enjoyable fish!

I have had my red devil for a little over a year. He was shy and afraid for the first week or two after i got him but as he got bigger he became more confident. He grew from 3 inches to 8.5 inches now and still growing! He moved to a 72 gal tank from a 20 and he grew almost 4 inches in less than 4 months. He is just starting to get teeth and he uses them! We had a tug-of-war with the net and he almost won. I would tell anyone to get a red devil. He is so smart and entertaining. I love him so much! Red devils truely make wonderful pets, but as ive learned, many times they must live alone.

I have had my red devil for about 4mths. He is my baby and is about 5inches long. I put my hand in the tank and he tries to splash me then he comes up and wants me to hold him which i can do. He slides through my fingers from nose to tail. He has such a great personality. best companion pet ever! I can watch them for hours.

My sister has had a Jack dempsey she got from her husband's friend. And it used to eat fish and just about anything in there. Believe it or not she now can put it with guppies (yes I said guppies) that are about 2cm at most. ANd he doesn't harm a one. He eats tropical flake food. Only certain ones though. And he's very spoiled. he's huge now. he could probably fill up my laptop screen if i put him on here. he's the most peaceful fish she owns. She used to poke his head with a stick each time he went after a fish. and when he didn't he got a reward. which he looks foreward to now when he defends his fishy friends from the evil net and evil algae eater.

I bought 3 baby Jack Dempsys about 7 years ago and they were all about the same size. I put them in a 10 gallon tank and one died in about a week. The others survived. Then when they got about 6 inches I put them in my 30 gallon tank. Then one grew faster then the other so it eventually killed the other one because of so much stress. Now the last one is still alive and happily living in the tank 9 inches long with 2 Zebra chilids, a Green Terror and an alage eater. The jack basically eats everything and is the most beautiful fish in my tank. He displays awsome colors still today. Im planning on buying another baby jack to grow like my old one!

These fish are very mean. I say this because I had 4 fish. 1 male electric, 1 female electric, 1 male beta, and 1 male fancy tail guppy. Well you see im still in school and day by day each one of my fish disappeared, until finally my male remained. But other than that this one fish recognizes me. i taught him to swim in a circle when he's hungry, so i give em so pellets.

p.s.
they eat worms!
