I currently have 1 Banjo Cat (male) who is about 5 1/2 inches long. I purchased him from a local pet store. The pet store I purchased him from had one other but refused to sell that one to me as they thought it was almost dead. They refused to listen about how these fish do not move much during the day (this place always has lights on and does NOT have places for these fish to hide) and they kept poking it and eventually threw it out. Im glad I atleast was able to rescue one of them! Most people do not understand these fish and I have heard of a few people flushing them or throwing them away (when the fish was perfectly healthy!!!). Its sad. Mine loves blood worms and will even go after them in the day time with everyone watching. They are very incredible fish and remind me of something you would find in a saltwater tank instead of fresh.

HI IM MIKE FROM PAIGTON i have a sutchi. i think these fish are great and they have alot of character. i have been keeping fish for about 5 mouths and im learning fast. the sutchi was one of my first fish. i dont recommend this because they are hard to keep as my first sutchi died. but i didnt give up i bought one a week later and had it ever since. sutchis are usually first to catch illness as parasites can attach themselves to them more easily. my sutchi is in quarantine with ulsers on his nose from darting about the tank but is recovering. he will go into my 6x2x2 ft. when hes fully grown ill have a 8x4x2 ft.

I own two Bi-colour Banjo catfishes and therefore have read quit a few articles on them. We all know that the difference between the sexes in most catfishes is hard to make out. From what I have found with my Banjos and the articles I read is that the female has a visibly rounder body shape where as the male is very flat.

I have two plecos right now, they grow steadily, so be prepared to upgrade your tank every few years. I have only encountered one very aggressive pleco, most of mine have been very docile and hardy. They live in excess of 6 years, more like 12, so I would suggest this fish to anyone who plans to keep an aquarium for a long time. They do eat plants, so use artificial plants instead of real ones, and bury the plant base in the gravel as a large pleco can easily rearrange a tank (i.e. send plants flying) with one swish of its tail.

I have two plecos in my tank. They are awesome cleaners, very hardy, and are a great addition to any tank. Mine are about 4.5 inches long and Ive had them longer than any other fish in my tank. They get along great with other fish (because theyre always eating they dont even notice other fish!).

I have 3 pangasius and they were execptionaly calm when I kept my tank at 78 degrees. Recently I raised it to 82 and their behavior has changed dramatically. They now are swimming around like crazy, lots of fun to watch and they are extremely healthy.

They eat anything they can fit in their mouths (which is a lot). Mine ate a Panaque nigrolineatus ("Royal Plecostomus") when it was younger that was about half its length, a VERY expensive meal. Anyone thinking of purchasing one of these monsters remember this: red tailed cats are voracious and should only be kept with fish that are at least two thirds their own size. Also do not keep them with agressive cichlids as they will pester them and chew their barbels off. All in all they are great if you have large aquaria to keep them in, and they enjoy ground beef heart so their not all that expensive to feed (though you should supplement their diet with live food whenever possible).

I have a lace cat and it ate my small frog, pregnant powder-blue dwarf grommie, a small shark, and it is going after all the rest of my fish. The only fish it seems to be getting along with is my siver dollar, and the sucker fish. But, over all they are pretty cool fish.
