It is always necessary to have bottom feeders for community tanks, as they work to help you rid your tank of any leftovers. They are highly recommended due to their beautiful appearance, their gentle behaviour, and adorable looks. Avoid adding to tanks with quiet & still fishes, as their active nature will probably be offensive.

Am so obsessed with them! I have tanks with only cories as they are so enchanting.

The more cories there are, the better! Avoid driftwoods with holes as they do get stuck -- mine did! Albino cories looks very classic and when you are feeling down -- they cheer you up by winking at you. Extremely gentle and loves company from other similar sized species. Breeding proves difficult though... A must for all community tanks~!

Must feed them on a variety of food.

Avoid keeping them with sensitive fishes (discus, etc), and away from sunlight.

I used to keep just one cory with 3 angelfish. i thought it was a dull fish, always still and at a corner, never active except when frightened. however, after adding 5 cories -- it totally changed! it got lively, chased after them curiously, and appeared sniffing at them! He loved their company! Now they are often travelling together, and they share food like good siblings. The best thing about them -- they never get jealous over whose share of food is more! Avoid salt at all, they are extremely sensitive to it.

I have an individual kept with Neon tetras and other small fish. It has never even looked like eating them. Great community fish, although it does tend to batter itself if there are no plants in the tank.

Not for the average fish keeper. You need a large tank to keep this bad boy.

Very good fish, active and good cleaners of algea and leftover food. They like clean water and warm temperatures, Buy more than one because they get lonely. Very hardy and doesnt develop any diseases. Very strong, if something happens to your tank they will be the last to know because they are very strong and can withstand a lot of stuff.

Very peaceful, and good cleaners of your tank! Feed them every other day, so that way they will eat the algea, and the left over food on the bottom from the other fish, dont worry they will never starve! They are good cleaners and dont get very big (only 2 inches). When you want to feed them or give them a treat, buy them food tablets that sink down, and watch the fun unfold! Very active throughout the day.

If you dont like the catfish that stick to a window all day and dont move, then the CORYDORAS species, and especially this one is for you. Its very peaceful, and a good gravel cleaner. Just make sure that the gravel its not rough (no stones or anything) because that can cut and injure their stomachs because they swim very close to the bottom. If you want rocks and stuff, buy rocks that are POLISHED, so they wont injure your Cory Catfish. This species is very active and they go around your tank all day like a little submarine looking for food. Buy them in pair because they get lonely, and besides, they like to swim 2-4 in pcks, and its very fun and entertaining for the person thats looking at them! Irecommend this fish!

Like the INFO says, this fish is unusual and cool. When someone looks at you tank they are most likely to say WHAT IS THAT? The fish is not very active in the day, provide a lot of plants and hiding places where they could hide. During the night when most fish are still this fish will most likely go around for food. get only one because they get big and take up space, but on the other hand they dont move much, and are a great addition to any aquarium!

Ive got a pleco and unfortunetly I wasnt prepared for it. I have a 10 gallon and I got it when it was a cute 1/2 inch baby. Boy, now its a 2 foot monster in my pond out back. If its out in the shallow end and I have guests over, they are startled by its size.
