We have two of them, the 1st one we got last year was a real baby about 1/2 inch long. About a week later it had a growth spree,it got to be a inch. We then went and got our 2nd one, it too was a baby. we have strange water where we live (we think)because within 2 full months one of them reached 2 1/2inches and the other wasnt too far behind in length. for a bit there, my husband and I thought that the big one was dead several times cause he wouldnt move or anything for several days. We came to learn that was normal for them. we have had these 2 now for a little over a year. the 1 first one is over 5 inches long and during its growth we suspect it was the S.O.B that ate our rosey barbs & cherry barbs, as a means of a late night snack attack! the 2nd one is just chilling on the growth thing for now we think! We have a 50 gal bow front with a wide vareity of fish in it(3 bala sharks, 1 tinfoil barb, 2 cory cats, 1 pictus cat, 1 8"upside down cat (named pete: he is all black, no dots or anything, never seen one like pete before, and we have a pleco, lacydontus, and 2 shubunkins. they all enjoy themselves and get along nicely.

I just recently received a twenty gallon tank as a gift, and I went and bought a few Corys. Both are sweet little fish, only around an inch right now (but hopefully growing!) and are my favorites, although my shark cat has a tendency to nip at them when doing his rounds about the tank. My smaller one (I named her Kissyboots) likes to hide in the rocks, while her friend (named Milkshakes) likes to be right by her side. I simply adore both of them!

I think my cories are gonna have babys! I see eggs on the glass of my tank. I love them so much, I can't wait till I'm a grandma! They are very strong fish. I had a bunch of fish and they got sick and died, and my cories had no clue what was going on. They seem very happy!

Whatsup Everyone. I just started with aquariums around october 2004. I had a small 30 gallon tank, which I recently upgraded to a 65 Gallon. I had 2 Irrid Sharks, (Frankie & Johnny). They seemed to get over any sickness that came about them. They were about 4" long, but recently Frankie just passed away. I think it was because the PH level was too high. I was soo upset about it, I went to petland and purchased 4 babies. Now they are all schooled together, they ususally hangout on the right side of the tank. Not sure why but they were even doing that in the pet store. I also have 2 Laporanis (I think thats how you spell it), 3 Red Tailed sharks, 1 6 - 7 " plecco, and 2 babie pleccos (about 2 - 3"). I feed them frozen brine shrimp a few times a week, they all love it. I feed them 3 algie discs, about 15 - 20 cichild pellets, and about 10 - 15 shrimp pellets, twice a day. They all seem to love it. And when they eat it all up, I still see them scavenging all over the bottom of the rocks looking for more food!. I am now doing 50% water changes at least twice a week. Every time I do a waterchange, I add about 6 - 10 capfulls of tap water conditioner, I sprinkle some aquarium salt around, and add about 6 - 10 capfulls of cycle. If I need to, I will add a little bit of PH minus when I do a water change. Maybe 2 or 3 little spoon fulls. I am trying to keep my tank as well balanced as I possibly can, Yet it is very diffacult.

I have had a Pangasius cat fish for 2 months now. it was very stressed when in the aquatic shop and I was told not to expect it to live, but as soon as I got it home it immediately up and has gone from strength to strength ever since. It is at present in a community tank with mainly gouramies, 2 angels, rosie barbs, 2 reed fish, a sail fin pleco, and some tetra. I will be moving it to another tank with a couple of the largest of the other fish from my community tank soon, to give it more room to swim and grow. I would recommend a Pangasius to anyone who likes exotic and friendly fish, they are great. I am really glad I rescued it.

I have had my pleco for over 7 years. I enjoy watching him fly thru the tank and raise his huge dorsal fin. He is about 8" in length in my 29g aquarium. I would love to upgrade to a bigger aquarium for him but I am limited for space. People are always amazed at how big he is, they are kind of spooked but always ask questions. He loves to eat Romaine lettuce that I sink on a rock tied with a rubberband.

This profile finally gives these wonderful fish justice. It should be pointed out that there are several species of banjo cats, but a great profile nonetheless. I have kept several of the banjo cat species, which vary greatly in body shape and color. A great and hardy fish, I would recommend these fish to just about anyone looking to "spice up" a tank.
