Now im not here to get all all sentimental and mushy inside about the mollies but...i will tell you what i have...Well fellas....and gals.....I have a helluva combination in my 49 gallon tank I bought at Wal-Mart. So far I have bought 18-female-sailfin mollies for a whopping $40.00 A good price to pay on these is about $2.00 per fish. If you are paying more than that.....chances are you are getting ripped off so look around a bit........well anyways like i was saying...the tank looks really elegant with all these white sailfin mollies mixed in with BLACK angel fish....the contrast between black and white fish is really nice......

I purchased my black moor in 1988, and they are still alive in my 10 GAL aquarium. My moor lives with a calico fantail, and they are a pair of old goldfish (theres a difference between a week in a bowl or 16 years in a fish tank). They are supposed to be very long-lived, and should live another 20 years or so. They are very easy to keep, (unless you keep them in a bowl in which they wont survive long), and be careful when handling them, because of their delicate eyes, and dont overdose when treating ich.

I was amazed to find a site like this. Too Cool. I have one wonderful Black Moor, named Hercamer. He is a fish with personality, I am so attached to it, that it got me to thinking of what the lifespan of these fish are?? I have had mine for a couple of years. Does anyone know the lifespan of these fish??? Any info. would be super.......

my arowana dont like nothing but feeders i have tryed ever thing he dont like plankton night crawlers krill crickets but he will eat bloodworms and brine shrimp hes not even a year yet and hes about 22 ins long hes a big boy

I am a very big fish person. But, my favorite fish is a hatchetfish. I have learned more about the silver hatchet fish then any other hatchetfish. But when you have any type of hatchetfish, you should always have a net over your filter hole, so your hatchetfish will not jump out. For proof, I have had two hatchetfish jump out of my tank. One was a silver hatchetfish. It was playing in the filter current for a few days. But one morning before I left the house, I did not see my hatchetfih in my tank. A while later, we found it by the stand our fish tank is on. It was to late to save it. You can also ask a person at a fish store. But hatchetfish are very good fish to keep.

I have resently bought a single tin foil for my 30 gallon tank. When I purchased him he was about an 1 1/2 inches, and in just over 2 weeks he has grown another inch. Other fish in my tank include 1 albino cory, 2 small alge eaters, 1 giant danio, and 1 small shark about 3 inches (not sure what kind because I purchased it long ago, not bala).

We have two of these entertaining fish. Both are orange and about 4" in length. We keep them in a seven foot tank with several other species however we have found that they do have a penchant for the tetra neons and our crew of those has shrunk from 10 to 4! We find them very friendly to us, funny to watch but they definitely rule the roost in the tank. We have had several clutches of eggs but the other fish must eat them cos they disappear very quickly. I wouldnt want to part with them now as they are an endless source of amusement.

I fell in love with the bright orange pair I have as soon as I saw them, what made me smile the most was their interaction with me. These fish are so friendly and sociable, my friends are fascinated with them. They are around about five inches at the moment and live very happily in my community tank, although they used to be alot more fish in the tank.
I havent replaced them as my two parrots are getting so big there would be no room left for the little guys!!.
Currently I have angels, tetras, catfish, clown loaches and a rope fish all living together quite peacfully. When I first brought them I found it very difficult to find any information on keeping these fish, but I have treated them no different to my other fish, they eat catfish pellets, tropical flakes, bloodworm and their own kind of cichlid food.
I would not hesitate to recommend these fish to anyone, they are very well natured and have a cheeky kind of wit about them, which makes them a conversation piece most dinner times.

i introduced my giant gourami into a tank with a smaller and larger knifefish. it ultimately killed the smaller knifefish (it wasnt that much smaller). then it started attacking the much larger one. i gave away the larger knifefish before the gourami could kill it.

now, the gourami lives happily with four much smaller common goldfish. it seems to be pretty arbitrary what type of fish pisses it off.

anyway, its a very active and attractive fish. easy to feed. begs for food. just dont expect it to get along with other community fish, no matter how big they are.
