These beautiful, unusual, fish are very hardy and tough survivors in stressful situations.
That DOES NOT mean though that you may place them in a tank and forget about it.
Beautiful and great to hand-feed, Tinfoil barbs are so entertaining to watch, actually intensify their brilliant red colors as they mature while other fish usually lose their color, and are easy to care for. I currently keep three Tinfoil barbs along with four Severums cichlids and one Striped River catfish in a 55 gallon.
I got my barbs from a relative and they were only about 2-3 inches. After about a year they are at least 6 inches and are so pretty in the tank with their contrasting silver coloration.
Feed these fish variety, high quality flakes, shrimp pellets, freeze dried food and others. Tinfoil barbs are very easy to care for as long as the owner provides a decent tank size and keeps up with many water changes.
If you have a large tank of at least 55 gallons, get around three of these silver beauties. They are very worth having around in your tank.

Hi I am from Thailand and I just got my blackmoor yesterday.Her name is Bento. She is very cute and always hungry. I try not to overfeed her. Next week I am going to by a runchu to be her friend.

I find that this breed of fish is very easy and i recommend that if anyone is thinking of buying gold fish they should consider buying a black moor as they are different than most gold fish types.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 18 INCH RED TAILED CATFISH. ALONG WITH MY 2 FT TIGER SHOVELNOSED CATFISH THEY HAVE DEVOURED ALL SMALLER FISH, TO INCLUDE 2 LIMA SHOVELNOSE AND 2 SMALLER TIGERS ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF MINNOWS. OVERALL IF YOU HAVE THE TANK SIZE THEY ARE A GREAT FISH TO HAVE. IDEAL TANK MATES ARE OSCARS PACUS AND OTHER CICHLIDS THAT CANT DISAPPEAR INTO ITS BOTTOMLESS PIT. I HAVE SEVERAL OSCARS A PIKE AND 2 PACUS AND 2 MAGUANESE AND 1 RED DEIVL IN A 220 ALONG WITH THE 2 CATFISH

I have 8 pink lady gouramis in a 300 gallon tank, i bought them about 5 months ago when they were about 4 inches long. now they are all about 12 inches. they tend to get along very well. they are very cool looking all together. on the other hand i also have 3 red tails and 2 white gouramis in a 240 gallon tank. they are very aggressive and have to be separated all the time. for some reason the pink ladys seem to be the peaceful and newest of the spieces.

You say that they only grow to about 6" or so i have now in my tank 2 that are about 10"-11" that ive had for about 2 12 years and are kept in a 500 gallon pond during the winter and in a 200 gallon tank in the winter

I have two powder blue dwarf gouramis and was keeping both in a planted 25 gallon tank along with 2 otos and 6 panda cories. The larger of the two (both male) became more and more aggressive toward the other (never the other species) until it was necessary for me to move the victim to a different tank. Unfortunate as the two really had some interesting interaction before the aggression. An absolutely lovely fish.

I have two black moor fish. the fish keep me occupied because they are so active i can sit and watch them swim around in the tank for hours at a time!! the fish get along really good (i have a girl and a boy). i just hope they dont have babies because i wont know wat to do with all of them. anyway i am going to ckeck up on them....

Well.. I have just started keeping an Arowana about 3 months ago. He is about 3-4in and is very cute. He stays in a tank with a 3-4in clown knife a good sized Eel, and surprisingly a male betta. They are all great together. Ive had him since he had his yolk sac, so hes my little baby. He eats Pellets 4 carniverious fish, and loves them. He also eats the remains of worms from my Eel
He has not tried an escape yet but i am sure hes thinking about it when i take off the lid. Thanx 4 all ur help....

My Agamyxis is now 17 years old and has survived 2 Long distance House moves, a move to a different tank and numerous tank mates and is still going strong. He/she looks great too.
