I have to disagree with Ben's opinion, this coral is a great piece to have in your reef. It is amazing to watch, the individual polyps open and close simetaneously. Although, I do agree that it is a fast grower, but you can prune it every so often and either sell the frags (which will grow into a whole new coral) or give them away to people just starting a reef or to fellow aquarists. Xenia is a great coral for a beginner or an experienced aquarist.

I bought a small piece of green star with about 10 polyps on it. I bought it about a month and a half ago and now I have almost doubled the amount of polyps and it's already starting to encrust the rock I put it on. Gave me confidence as this is my 1st addition for my reef tank.

I find lots of info mentioning the brown manjoram anemone, but no real solution. Yes being proactive with quarantine is good, but doesn't solve the problem if they sneak in anyway and start to reproduce..

still looking for a solution to rid them...

You should add how to protect soft and hard coral but, it is good even without.

We love our colt coral. She is tall and bushy. We placed her at the top of the tank with high water flow and she never looked bad!

I was able to find one of these at a lfs and was so happy I did they are so beautiful. Best anemone for a micro tank since they stay small and don't need a heater. It is very fast eater I have never seen an anemone's head move so fast from one side to the other to eat. The tentacles are very sticky and I don't think a clown could ever use one. I have a lot of small shrimp in my tank and the tentacles are so sticky that if their antenna even touch them he will quickly turn his head and the shrimp is doomed. Also they are so fast when you add some pods in the tank his little ten tentacle tips just pick them of one by one the coolest thing ever to watch. The colors are so intense it is beautiful. If you get a chance to get one do so and set up a species only 5 gallon tank with maybe a kenya tree or some paly's do not pass up the chance to own one of these guys. You can add one in a nano or large tank to just make sure the placement is right because if he goes on the move he will not just sting but eat any corals that stick to his superglue tentacles. A must have for the serious anemone enthusiast but a very rare one to find in certain parts of the world if you live in england you can probably just find one at the lagoons.

Do toad stools bleach. I have a real nice one losing his color. How do i correct it?

Most of the time color changes in corals are related to the tank lighting, rather than coral bleaching. Coral bleaching is where there is a mass expulsion of zooxanthellae. Most likely your coral has zooxanthalle but not enough lighting, so you are losing color.
