These are a difficult anemone to keep and it is important that you got a healthy anemone to start with. After that, its all about providing an excellent environment and proper care. You mention your water is good, but they do need at least a 50 gallon aquarium that is well established for water stability. They also need strong lighting and regular feedings.

I would not say that this LPS is difficult to care for, nor is it best left to experienced reef keepers.

They also do quite well in moderate water flow areas due to increased gas exchange and will readily take prepared foods if supplied.

If your plate coral looks very unhappy, like it has retracted into it's skeleton, you probably have a low level of calcium. mine did- i went and bought Kent Marine liquid calcium and it was alot better the other day. If you think part of it has died, use an eye dropper and squit some kent marine concentrated iodine over the area and the coral should recover!

I would not stir up bottom sediment my experience is that this can damage the flowers and it's downhill after some damage occurs. It's amazing the speed of response ( retraction) to any stimulus even the flow of water when feeding them. I lost one after about six months and have two beautiful ones now, one is pale green the other purple with yellow centres. As far as light is concerned I find they like a T5/halide combination and LED is too weak

My Cabbage coral is very easy to care for. I keep a medium current flow across this coral, enough to slightly move the leaves. Lighting in my tank is all normal output fluorescent 6500K, 10,000K, and Actinic. I maintain normal to high water parameters, Calcium 400+ ppm, Magnesium 1300-ppm, Alkalinity 8-11 dkh, I adjust parameters with additives and maintain with Kalkwasser.

Even though they're gross to feed (you have a fishy smell for the rest of the day, and there's a high probability you didn't feed them all because there is so many), they're actually really cool to look at. I am part of a class and I am studying them. They really produce quickly! And hardy? I checked the solobility in the tank and it was at 40! my teacher and I brought it down from 40, but wow, these things can live just on food or just on light. Both a-sexual and sexual too.
