We just bought 2 Dutch Blue Lovebirds last Friday, 3/25/11 and overnight one of them died, the shop is giving us another but how am I assured that they will take to each other. These last 2 were cuddling on a perch when we covered them for the night and the remaining bird has been playful and very active since, we are showing him/her lots of attention but are still worried that the new one might not get along with the 1st bird. The shop owner told us he is giving us a bird from the same group, both of our birds were still babies when we got them, thanks Larry and Toni

There is no guarantee that two love birds will love. However, it would be doubtful that they wouldn't learn to like each other, play together and grow to love each other. My concern here would be why the original love bird died. Could there have been agression? Is it possible that one of the two lovebirds were ill?
  • Wendy - 2014-08-22
It is never a good idea to cover them. Some birds have night frights, this can cause them to flap around wildly and injure themselves because they cannot see. This is especially dangerous with birds new to their environment.

When my kittens were found everyone assumed they were brother and sister. My Mercy was a Tortoise Shell. The other cat I believe was a Calico. They mated and had a litter. I believe I am a victim of a prank. When my former so called friends and certain relative that married into a family that married relatives. They were trying to make me eat my words. I gave the whole family away. These evil people were looking for any negative thing on me. They believe I favord my tabby mostly white. I knew my Mercy was a beautiful cat that acted lady like. Her manners were beautiful. She got the boot because we all assume she mated with her brother. PLEASE tell me Tortoise SHell cats are a different breed. How do I get my baby back.

The likely hood of your baby mating with the brother from another litter is very possible, but unlike humans, a cat's first imbred litter will have no ill effects. Torties are made by mating a black (variation of markings) cat and an orange(variation of markings) cat together. They are in no sort a different breed from a calico, the pattern in which the fur lays is the only difference.

Our lionhead was a very active tankmate with our fantails but recently has started to hide in the vegetation, she or he is breathing normal but not swimming. mostly stays in one spot. Do you think she could be pregnant? She seems to have become very rounded. Please comment.

  • Tara Kelly - 2011-12-04
Hello, I was wondering if you had any babies due coming up to the spring. I have been searching for a breeder for a very long time. I was raised up on a farm in Australia and our family was part of WIRES, which cares for native animals. I have quite a lot of experience in raising wildlife. I have done a lot of research on the muntjac and seems to be the perfect fit for me and my lifestyle. I don't have another pets as I have been trying for nearly 2years to get in contact with a reportable breeder. I hope to hear from you soon.

We adopted a dog through the Cell Dogs program at a prison and she is listed as a lab/terrier mix. She resembles the red nose pit pictures I have been looking at. Anyone willing to view her pictures via email and let me know?

Ok thanks..I will try and find a breeder around here and see if they are willing to check her out for me. Yes the Humane Society that runs the Cell Dog program was afraid no one would adopt her, so they listed her as lab/terrier mix. She is 16 months olds, very intelligent..she is crate trained and also hand command trained...We love her to death!!
  • cathy rice - 2014-03-29
I also adopted a female red nose pit from our humane society about 2 years ago, best dog I ever had. Would love to look at yours. My baby is my profile on facebook.
