As with all gouramis whose mature size is around 4 inches- it is unwise to mix with the dwarf varieties. I have had horrible experiences with a homicidal gold gourami- who mauled and killed a neon dwarf gourami. Anything that is smaller, weaker, or in the wrong place at the wrong time is a potential target. In their defense they are beautiful and can be tamed. The ideal setting in my opinon for these fish is a 30+ gallon tank with one gold gourami, one pearl gourami, one opaline/blue/3 spot gourami, 3 LARGE bronze corys, and lots of hiding spaces. I have heard that the females are less tempermental but you may want to confirm that with another source. Also- if you have a good fish dealer- they will be able to inform you which fish have a tendency towards violence and which seem to be calm.

I found out that female bettas can be colourful too. When i was breeding a pair, i saw and recognised the more colourful one as the female! It was a surprise for me and know i know that not only males can be colourful.

The plecostomus is an excellent cleaner for the aquarium, however, they can be very territorial. I have a 70 gal. tank with 3 discus and one 8 inch plecos. I feed him plenty, but he is so aggressive (always chasing and harrassing my discus) that I am forced to find a new home for him. Do not put your plecos with such mild mannered fish as discus.

Hi, my name is Brent and im 12, I bought 3 mice a few days ago, 2 fancy mice and one common mouse. Two of them are boys and one was a girl until she passed away. I took her back to the store and got a new female. One of the males is hostile to the other ones and injured the other male, Minkus. The other males name is Babelicious,(Its my brothers common mouse) and the dead female was Boopy. The new female is Ling Ling. I am trying to breed them, but Babelicious keeps attacking the two fancy mice. They get along sometimes also.

I just wanted to say I got my first hamster a few months ago. I have a Black Bear Hamster named Willow and he is just wonderful and very friendly. He has only bitten when we first got him and very active. Recently he had to go to the Vet cause I noticed he might have wet tail. They kept him over night and are giving him antibiotics and hand feeding him. I have been reading sites that say even with antibiotics he could still die. I really hope not cause he is helped me out in these few months. I feel like he is my child and I talk about him all the time to my friends and co-workers. Just watching him is very peaceful. I wish I could own tons..lol This site has helped me alot with being a first time owner. Thank you

I have a mini-lop and she is so cute! She eats all the time she even takes the food out of my bunnies other mouth! She is also always scared. If you want a bunny and you found one you want i recomend asking about it or looking it up on this website it really helps me with my bunnies!

i got 2 mini lops about a month ago and i love them so much! THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN TO BE WITH AND WERE LITTER BOX TRAINED IN 2 DAYS! their names are Skittles and Snickers and i love them so much!!!!!
